DecisionPoint is seeking a forward-leaning Director of Solution Architecture who actively designs, shapes, and delivers complex solutions while building and mentoring a high-performing architecture team. This role combines hands-on solution design and technical leadership across the capture and proposal lifecycle with people management and strategic influence. Unlike purely advisory roles, this position requires deep engagement in pre-sales, program startup, major deliveries, and architectural problem-solving, serving as both a lead architect and a coach to other architects and engineers. This position will report directly to the Chief Growth Officer and will directly inform win strategies, ensure technical integrity, and advance DecisionPoint’s strategic growth objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and design for high-visibility, complex initiatives, including Enterprise platforms, cloud and hybrid environments, Systems integration and modernization efforts, and cybersecurity support.
  • Personally develop end-to-end solution architectures and approaches; Reference architectures and design patterns; and develop technical approaches for proposals, white papers, and program baselines.
  • Serve as chief architect on priority proposal efforts.
  • Partner with the growth and operations teams to resolve solution challenges and ensure solutions are buildable, scalable, and secure.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a team of solution architects and senior technologists through design reviews, paired architecture sessions, and active participation in delivery of solutions.
  • Set clear expectations for architectural quality, documentation, and accountability.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, delivery excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Actively support capture and proposal efforts, technical win strategies, and customer and executive briefings.
  • Translate customer needs into clear, credible, and executable architectures.
  • Serve as the trusted technical voice with customers, business development, and program leadership.
  • Apply AI/ML and advanced analytics to optimize solution design, delivery, and mission outcomes.
  • Lead and deliver solution architectures in a federal government contracting environment, including active participation in program execution, contract startup, and operational sustainment, with working knowledge of FAR-based contracts, SLAs, and compliance-driven delivery constraints.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in technical architecture, solution engineering, or systems design roles.
  • Proven success in leading solution development for large-scale Federal/Defense pursuits.
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP etc.), cybersecurity frameworks, data engineering, and enterprise IT.
  • Experience architecting solutions aligned with ITIL, DoD RMF, Zero Trust, DevSecOps, and Agile delivery.
  • Expertise in developing proposal technical volumes and supporting business development.
  • Progressive technical leadership including supporting cross-functional teams in the areas of engineering, digital transformation, data analytics, and cybersecurity.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI-powered tools into existing workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy in proposal development and solution design processes.
  • Fluent with industry best practices in enterprise and security architecture.
  • Must be highly motivated, goal-driven, and results-oriented with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
