Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a Special Projects Manager to lead high-visibility, enterprise-level initiatives that advance MC&FP’s digital modernization and outreach strategy. This role drives platform optimization pilots, niche audience expansion strategies, short-form video and emerging content initiatives, and cross-functional partnerships across the PMO, outreach, analytics, and IT/Cyber teams. 

The Special Projects Manager ensures all innovation efforts are strategically aligned, measurable, and integrated into the O&E Dashboard and broader communications ecosystem. This position requires a senior strategist who thrives in fast-moving environments and can translate new opportunities into actionable outcomes. 

This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Special Projects Manager will: 

  • Lead all Special Projects initiatives from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with MC&FP priorities. 
  • Develop platform optimization strategies, including feature testing, content pilots, and workflow improvements. 
  • Drive niche audience expansion initiatives, including segmentation analysis and emerging-channel exploration. 
  • Oversee short-form content strategy and operationalize content experiments across channels. 
  • Manage partnerships across internal teams (analytics, cyber/IT, creative, content, product) to accelerate innovation. 
  • Integrate project results, metrics, and dashboards into the O&E Dashboard framework. 
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, insights, and recommendations. 
  • Identify new opportunities for modernization, automation, and data-driven decision-making. 
  • Maintain project schedules, milestones, dependencies, and performance indicators. 
  • Ensure all activities align with governance, quality, accessibility, and compliance requirements. 

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement 

Must hold an active Secret clearance, supported by a Tier 3 background investigation. 

 

Education (Required) 

Master’s degree in Strategic Communications, Digital Strategy, Business Administration, Human-Centered Design, or a related field. 

 

Experience (Required) 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing strategic initiatives, innovation programs, or digital transformation projects. 
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a federal or enterprise environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to drive digital strategy, platform optimization, and emerging content initiatives. 
  • Experience developing executive-level insights and reporting. 

 

Technical Knowledge (Required) 

  • Strong understanding of digital ecosystems, content strategy, platform analytics, and UX principles. 
  • Experience evaluating platform capabilities, user behaviors, and technical constraints. 
  • Proficiency in project management, requirements definition, and stakeholder communications. 

Technical Knowledge (Preferred) 

  • Experience with DoD communications programs. 
  • Familiarity with data visualization or dashboarding tools. 
  • Human-centered design or innovation lab experience. 

 

Skills 

  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and cross-team collaboration skills. 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and narrative development abilities. 
  • Ability to translate insights into actionable strategy and measurable outcomes. 
  • Strong communication skills for senior leadership audiences. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with discipline and strategic focus.
