Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a Virtual Event Coordinator to support the execution of MC&FP virtual events, webinars, town halls, and live-streamed leadership engagements. This role ensures smooth audience interaction, manages Q&A and chat moderation, monitors engagement tools such as polls, and supports seamless transitions between speakers and segments. 

The Virtual Event Coordinator works closely with producers, presenters, communications teams, and technical staff to ensure virtual events are highly professional, interactive, and aligned with enterprise communication standards. 

This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Virtual Event Coordinator will: 

  • Moderate Q&A activities, chat interactions, and audience engagement channels during virtual events. 
  • Manage polls, surveys, and interactive elements to enhance participant engagement. 
  • Support the flow of presenters, ensuring smooth transitions between segments. 
  • Monitor attendee questions, elevate priority items, and route inquiries to appropriate speakers. 
  • Assist presenters with real-time communication needs, including slide transitions or tech coordination. 
  • Track and manage chat behavior to maintain a productive and professional environment. 
  • Provide real-time updates to event producers on engagement patterns or issues. 
  • Support preparation tasks including run-of-show updates, speaker coordination, and rehearsal participation. 
  • Capture engagement metrics (attendance, participation, poll responses) and provide post-event summaries. 
  • Ensure all virtual event interactions comply with MC&FP guidelines, accessibility requirements, and communication standards. 

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement 

Candidate must possess a Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust (from any federal agency) or an active Secret clearance or higher. 

 

Education (Required) 

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Event Management, Marketing, or a related field. 

 

Experience (Required) 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting virtual events, webinars, or digital engagement activities. 
  • Experience with moderation, chat/Q&A management, and audience interaction workflows. 
  • Experience coordinating with presenters, event producers, and multi-disciplinary teams. 

 

Technical Knowledge (Required) 

  • Proficiency with virtual event platforms such as ZoomGov, Teams, WebEx, ON24, or similar tools. 
  • Understanding of chat, polling, and interactive engagement functionalities. 
  • Familiarity with virtual presentation best practices and event etiquette. 

Technical Knowledge (Preferred) 

  • Experience supporting federal or DoD virtual event programs. 
  • Knowledge of accessibility requirements including captioning and 508 considerations. 

 

Skills 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially in live digital environments. 
  • Excellent multitasking abilities with attention to detail. 
  • Calm, professional demeanor under pressure during live events. 
  • Ability to coordinate real-time interactions while following run-of-show structure. 
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
