Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a Policy & Procedures Analyst to develop, refine, and maintain policy, procedure, and governance documentation supporting a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. This role creates process documentation, community engagement policies, compliance alignment guidance, and operational procedures to strengthen consistency and ensure adherence to organizational standards. 

The analyst will work closely with program leadership, community engagement teams, and technical stakeholders to translate operational needs into clear, actionable, and compliant policies and procedures. 

This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Policy & Procedures Analyst will: 

  • Develop, update, and maintain policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflows, and governance documents. 
  • Align policy and procedural materials with federal, DoD, and organizational requirements. 
  • Support the development of community engagement policies and best-practice frameworks. 
  • Conduct policy research to ensure procedures reflect current regulations, guidelines, and mission priorities. 
  • Assist with compliance documentation, audits, and quality assurance reviews. 
  • Work with cross-functional teams to document roles, responsibilities, operational processes, and decision pathways. 
  • Ensure all procedural documents are versioned, accurate, accessible, and aligned with agency standards. 
  • Provide recommendations for improving process efficiency, risk mitigation, and documentation clarity. 
  • Support training development by providing policy explanations, summaries, and supporting materials. 
  • Collaborate with program managers and stakeholders to ensure documentation meets operational and communications needs.

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement 

Candidate must possess a Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust (from any federal agency) or an active Secret clearance or higher. 

 

Education (Required) 

BA/BS in Public Policy, Government, Business, Communications, or a related field. 

 

Experience (Required) 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing policy, procedures, governance documentation, or compliance materials. 
  • Experience supporting federal or DoD programs, community engagement activities, or documentation governance. 
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex processes into clear, structured documentation. 

 

Technical Knowledge (Required) 

  • Proficiency in drafting SOPs, workflows, governance documents, and policy artifacts. 
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks, regulatory research, and documentation standards. 
  • Strong understanding of version control practices and document lifecycle management. 

Technical Knowledge (Preferred) 

  • Experience supporting engagement, communications, or public-facing program governance. 
  • Knowledge of federal or DoD documentation requirements. 

 

Skills 

  • Exceptional writing, structuring, and documentation skills. 
  • Strong analytical and research abilities for policy development. 
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain organized documentation libraries. 
  • Strong communication skills and experience explaining policy decisions to diverse audiences.
