Overview

DecisionPoint seeks an Experiential Engagement Designer to develop immersive, interactive, and gamified digital experiences that strengthen public engagement within a federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. This role designs interactive components such as quizzes, polls, challenges, dynamic visuals, gamified journeys, and micro-experiences that improve user participation and elevate mission storytelling. 

The designer will collaborate with UX, content, creative, and analytics teams to deliver experiences optimized for accessibility, usability, and behavioral engagement. 

This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Experiential Engagement Designer will: 

  • Design immersive digital experiences such as gamified modules, quizzes, polls, interactive maps, and user journeys. 
  • Build engagement assets that drive participation, retention, and user feedback. 
  • Develop experiential design concepts and prototypes aligned with mission messaging and program priorities. 
  • Work closely with UX designers to ensure interactive components support user needs and behavioral motivation. 
  • Partner with content strategists and creative teams to integrate interactive experiences into web, mobile, and campaign platforms. 
  • Ensure all interactive content is accessible, responsive, and compatible across devices. 
  • Incorporate analytics and A/B testing to validate engagement approaches. 
  • Support rapid ideation cycles for experiential concepts tied to events, campaigns, or program launches. 
  • Produce creative assets, wireframes, prototypes, documentation, and interaction models. 
  • Adhere to visual identity, accessibility, and technical standards. 

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement 

Candidate must possess a Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust (from any federal agency) or an active Secret clearance or higher. 

 

Education (Required) 

BA/BS in UX Design, Digital Media, Game Design, Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), Interactive Design, or a related field. 

 

Experience (Required) 

  • Minimum 6 years of experience designing interactive, immersive, or gamified digital experiences. 
  • Demonstrated experience creating quizzes, polls, micro-interactions, gamification elements, or experiential content. 
  • Experience collaborating with creative, UX, and technical teams. 

 

Technical Knowledge (Required) 

  • Proficiency with interactive design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent). 
  • Knowledge of user behavior principles and experience-led design. 
  • Familiarity with accessibility (508/WCAG) requirements. 
  • Understanding of interactive prototyping, design systems, and responsive design. 

Technical Knowledge (Preferred) 

  • Experience with motion graphics, animation, or lightweight front-end interaction development. 
  • Familiarity with behavioral science or experience-based storytelling. 

 

Skills 

  • Strong creativity and visual problem-solving abilities. 
  • Ability to translate abstract concepts into engaging interactive experiences. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 
  • Detail-oriented, with strong quality control discipline. 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.
