Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a Senior SEO Specialist to lead enterprise-wide search engine optimization strategy in support of a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. This role develops long-term SEO roadmaps, defines baseline metrics, oversees monthly technical and performance analysis, and ensures all SEO activities advance organizational priorities and audience needs. 

The Senior SEO Specialist will serve as the subject matter expert guiding SEO implementation across digital content, websites, tools, and communications products. This role ensures adherence to best practices in technical SEO, content optimization, analytics interpretation, and integrated digital strategy. 

This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Senior SEO Specialist will: 

  • Lead the enterprise SEO program, including strategy development, KPIs, governance standards, and implementation oversight. 
  • Establish baseline SEO metrics and performance targets across MC&FP’s digital ecosystem. 
  • Conduct technical SEO audits including site speed, indexing, metadata, schema, internal linking, redirects, and crawl health. 
  • Oversee monthly SEO reporting and actionable insights for leadership and program teams. 
  • Develop and maintain keyword strategies to support content planning and communication priorities. 
  • Ensure content adheres to SEO best practices including metadata optimization, heading structures, alt text, evergreen maintenance, and link hygiene. 
  • Collaborate with UX, content, analytics, and development teams on SEO-informed enhancements. 
  • Guide schema markup, structured data, and specialized technical SEO configurations. 
  • Monitor algorithm changes, emerging search trends, and digital behaviors to inform strategy updates. 
  • Train stakeholders and staff on SEO practices and tools. 
  • Provide recommendations for continual improvement across content, technical architecture, and site governance. 

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement 

Candidate must possess a Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust (from any federal agency) or an active Secret clearance or higher. 

 

Education (Required) 

BA/BS in Marketing, Digital Communications, Data Analytics, or a related field. 

 

Experience (Required) 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading SEO strategy and implementing large-scale SEO programs. 
  • Experience conducting technical SEO audits and developing enterprise SEO roadmaps. 
  • Demonstrated success improving rankings, visibility, and organic engagement for complex websites. 
  • Experience with SEO performance reporting and analytics interpretation. 

 

Technical Knowledge (Required) 

  • Deep understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and technical SEO principles. 
  • Proficiency with SEO tools (e.g., Google Search Console, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs). 
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript as applied to SEO. 
  • Knowledge of schema markup, structured data, and indexing controls. 
  • Experience working with content management systems and digital asset governance. 

Technical Knowledge (Preferred) 

  • Experience supporting SEO in federal, DoD, nonprofit, or large multi-platform environments. 
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and Section 508 compliance. 

 

Skills 

  • Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities. 
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting insights to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration across digital, content, and technical teams. 
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and SEO best-practice discipline. 
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and drive measurable improvements.
