Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a Senior Content Manager to provide enterprise-level leadership and oversight of the full content lifecycle supporting a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. This role ensures that all content—digital, print, multimedia, and campaign-related—is strategically aligned, accurate, consistent, accessible, and mission-focused. 

The Senior Content Manager leads content planning, editorial governance, content workflows, version control, approvals, and enterprise-level coordination across communications, UX, creative, and program teams. This position plays a critical role in shaping the content strategy and ensuring its alignment with organizational priorities and stakeholder needs. 

This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Senior Content Manager will: 

  • Lead enterprise-wide content strategy, planning, and governance for all digital and print channels. 
  • Oversee content creation, review, approval, versioning, and publishing workflows. 
  • Maintain editorial standards, style guides, tone frameworks, terminology libraries, and content governance artifacts. 
  • Ensure content accuracy, consistency, and alignment with mission and stakeholder priorities. 
  • Manage cross-functional coordination between communications, UX, design, IT, and program teams. 
  • Oversee content calendars, messaging plans, and enterprise-wide content integration. 
  • Ensure all content meets accessibility requirements (508/WCAG) and plain language standards. 
  • Provide direction and feedback to writers, editors, designers, and subject matter experts. 
  • Lead enterprise content audits to improve quality, reduce duplication, and optimize content experiences. 
  • Support high-visibility messaging needs from leadership and cross-program initiatives. 
  • Develop content measurement strategies and support analytics review to improve engagement and performance. 
  • Ensure compliance with brand governance, metadata rules, SEO practices, and structured content standards. 

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement 

Candidate must possess a Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust (from any federal agency) or an active Secret clearance or higher. 

 

Education (Required) 

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, Information Science, Digital Media, or a related field. 

 

Experience (Required) 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in content management, editorial leadership, digital content strategy, or enterprise communications. 
  • Experience leading large-scale content operations or multi-channel content ecosystems. 
  • Experience managing editorial calendars, workflows, governance processes, and approval chains. 
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including UX, design, IT, communications, and leadership. 
  • Demonstrated success implementing enterprise-level content frameworks or standards. 

 

Technical Knowledge (Required) 

  • Strong knowledge of content governance, metadata standards, style guides, and editorial best practices. 
  • Experience with content management systems and structured content workflows. 
  • Understanding of SEO, UX writing, and accessibility (508/WCAG) for digital content. 

Technical Knowledge (Preferred) 

  • Experience working in federal, DoD, or large-scale mission-support environments. 
  • Experience with content analytics platforms and digital performance measurement. 
  • Knowledge of taxonomy development, tagging, and information architecture. 

 

Skills 

  • Excellent editorial, writing, and content strategy skills. 
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience guiding cross-functional content teams. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and quality. 
  • Ability to manage complex workflows, competing priorities, and high visibility deadlines. 
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
