Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a Podcast Producer to design, produce, and manage podcast episodes supporting a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. This role is responsible for shaping audio storytelling that informs, engages, and educates diverse audiences across the enterprise. 

The Podcast Producer oversees all aspects of production, including planning content, developing scripts, coordinating recordings, refining audio quality, editing episodes, and publishing through approved distribution channels. This role collaborates closely with communications, multimedia, and leadership teams to ensure high-quality, on-brand audio content. 

This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Podcast Producer will: 

  • Design, produce, and manage podcast episodes from concept to final publishing. 
  • Support content planning, story development, and long-term editorial scheduling. 
  • Develop scripts, talking points, outlines, and interview questions. 
  • Coordinate and manage recording sessions, including equipment setup and remote capture. 
  • Edit audio files, perform noise reduction, balance sound levels, and enhance clarity. 
  • Add intros/outros, transition music, voiceovers, and sound elements. 
  • Collaborate with communications and creative teams to align podcast content with broader messaging priorities. 
  • Ensure all podcast outputs comply with accessibility requirements, including transcripts. 
  • Publish podcast episodes to approved platforms and maintain organized episode archives. 
  • Support promotional efforts by preparing audio clips, summaries, and highlight reels. 
  • Maintain production schedules and ensure timely delivery of episodes. 

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement 

Candidate must possess a Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust (from any federal agency) or an active Secret clearance or higher. 

 

Education (Required) 

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Audio Engineering, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field. 

 

Experience (Required) 

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in podcast production, audio engineering, or multimedia storytelling. 
  • Experience conducting and managing interviews, panel recordings, or audio-based storytelling. 
  • Experience editing audio content for clarity, pacing, and narrative cohesion. 
  • Experience collaborating with communications, public affairs, or creative teams. 

 

Technical Knowledge (Required) 

  • Proficiency with audio editing tools (e.g., Adobe Audition, Audacity, Pro Tools). 
  • Understanding of podcast production workflows, including recording, cleanup, mixing, and exporting. 
  • Knowledge of audio formats, compression, and publishing standards. 
  • Ability to produce accessible outputs, including transcripts and caption files. 

Technical Knowledge (Preferred) 

  • Experience with remote recording platforms and podcast hosting tools. 
  • Familiarity with DoD or federal communications environments. 
  • Experience integrating podcast content with social media or multimedia channels. 

 

Skills 

  • Strong storytelling, interviewing, and scriptwriting skills. 
  • Excellent audio editing precision and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. 
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills. 
  • Ability to translate strategic themes into compelling audio narratives.
