Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a Brand Strategist to lead strategic brand development, positioning, and governance across all internal and customer-facing channels within a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. This role stewards the evolution, consistency, and impact of the enterprise brand, ensuring alignment with mission objectives, stakeholder needs, and communication priorities. 

The Brand Strategist drives brand architecture, messaging frameworks, visual identity governance, and cross-channel consistency. This role collaborates closely with communications, outreach, UX, policy, and leadership teams to enhance the clarity, cohesion, and recognition of the enterprise’s brand presence. 

This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Brand Strategist will: 

  • Lead the development and refinement of enterprise brand strategy, positioning, and identity. 
  • Manage brand governance processes, including guidelines, standards, and compliance monitoring. 
  • Ensure consistency of brand expression across digital, print, multimedia, outreach, and stakeholder-facing channels. 
  • Support development of message architectures, tone guidance, and brand-aligned narratives. 
  • Collaborate with UX and design teams to ensure brand alignment with visual design systems and component libraries. 
  • Conduct research to assess brand perception, audience expectations, and mission alignment. 
  • Lead updates to brand playbooks, templates, and toolkits to support consistent execution across teams. 
  • Oversee brand quality across communication campaigns, marketing products, and digital experiences. 
  • Partner with leadership to align brand strategy with mission priorities, policy updates, and organizational direction. 
  • Support training, workshops, and guidance sessions to ensure enterprise-wide brand adoption and alignment. 
  • Track brand performance metrics and recommend ongoing improvements. 

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement 

Candidate must possess a Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust (from any federal agency) or an active Secret clearance or higher. 

 

Education (Required) 

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Branding, Communications, Design Strategy, Business, or a related field. 

 

Experience (Required) 

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in brand strategy, brand management, or communications strategy. 
  • Demonstrated experience supporting brand development or brand governance in federal, DoD, enterprise, or large organizational environments. 
  • Experience developing messaging architectures, visual identity rules, and cross-channel brand guidelines. 
  • Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams including UX, design, communications, and leadership. 

 

Technical Knowledge (Required) 

  • Knowledge of brand architecture, positioning, and identity systems. 
  • Familiarity with digital branding practices, content strategy, and multi-channel user experience. 
  • Understanding of brand perception assessment, audience research, and brand performance metrics. 

Technical Knowledge (Preferred) 

  • Experience with digital asset management (DAM) systems or brand governance platforms. 
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and federal branding guidance. 

 

Certifications (Preferred) 

  • Branding, marketing, or design certifications 
  • ITIL v4 or project management certifications 

 

Skills 

  • Strong strategic thinking and brand storytelling abilities. 
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. 
  • High attention to detail and consistency in visual and narrative expression. 
  • Ability to translate complex mission needs into clear brand direction. 
  • Strong organizational and governance management skills.
