Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a Senior Research & Analysis Lead to design, manage, and execute advanced qualitative and quantitative research that informs enterprise-wide strategy for a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. This role leads the discovery and analysis of user needs, behavioral patterns, communication preferences, and audience insights to guide strategic planning, messaging, and stakeholder engagement. 

The Research & Analysis Lead conducts data-driven research studies, synthesizes findings into strategic insights, and provides leadership with actionable recommendations that improve mission alignment, user experience, and communication effectiveness. 

This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Research & Analysis Lead will: 

  • Lead development and execution of qualitative and quantitative research studies to understand user needs, motivations, behaviors, and preferences. 
  • Conduct in-depth audience analysis, segmentation, and behavioral research to inform strategic decision-making. 
  • Design research plans, study instruments, sampling strategies, and analysis frameworks. 
  • Perform interviews, focus groups, surveys, usability assessments, and ethnographic research. 
  • Analyze and synthesize research findings to identify insights, themes, pain points, and strategic opportunities. 
  • Present findings to leadership in clear, actionable formats including reports, executive summaries, journey maps, dashboards, and briefings. 
  • Support development of communication strategies, engagement campaigns, and UX enhancements using research-driven insights. 
  • Oversee data integrity, methodological rigor, and ethical research practices. 
  • Maintain research repositories, knowledge bases, and trend analysis dashboards. 
  • Advise communications, UX, product, and outreach teams on audience-centered solutions. 
  • Support ongoing measurement, impact assessment, and optimization of communication and engagement strategies. 

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement 

Candidate must possess a Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust (from any federal agency) or an active Secret clearance or higher. 

 

Education (Required) 

Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science, Sociology, Psychology, Marketing Research, Human Factors, Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), Communications, or a related field. 

 

Experience (Required) 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience conducting advanced qualitative and quantitative research. 
  • Experience designing and executing audience/user studies in federal, DoD, or enterprise environments. 
  • Demonstrated ability to derive clear insights from complex data and communicate them effectively. 
  • Experience supporting strategic planning or communications strategy with research-based recommendations. 

 

Technical Knowledge (Required) 

  • Strong understanding of research methodologies including interviews, surveys, focus groups, diary studies, and observational methods. 
  • Experience with statistical analysis, qualitative coding, and research synthesis. 
  • Familiarity with research tools such as Qualtrics, UserTesting, SPSS, R, NVivo, or similar platforms. 
  • Knowledge of behavioral science frameworks and audience modeling concepts. 

Technical Knowledge (Preferred) 

  • Experience integrating research with UX design, digital strategy, or enterprise communications. 
  • Experience developing personas, journey maps, and behavioral archetypes. 

 

Certifications (Preferred) 

  • UX research, insights analysis, or behavioral science certifications 
  • ITIL v4 Foundation 
  • Project management certifications

  • Ability to translate research into actionable strategy recommendations. 
  • Excellent planning, prioritization, and stakeholder engagement skills.
