Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a Project Scheduler to build, manage, and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) in support of a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. This role ensures schedule accuracy, alignment with program milestones, and transparency across stakeholders. The Project Scheduler supports dependency tracking, milestone reporting, MTAR workflow integration, and cross-team coordination to ensure program execution aligns with contractual and mission requirements. 

The Project Scheduler collaborates with program managers, technical leads, governance teams, and customer stakeholders to maintain a reliable, data-driven schedule foundation that drives decision-making and operational readiness.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Project Scheduler will: 

  • Build and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) using industry-standard tools. 
  • Manage schedule dependencies, constraints, critical paths, and milestone sequencing. 
  • Integrate MTAR workflows, task approvals, and stage-gate requirements into the master schedule. 
  • Provide forecasting, schedule health analysis, and “what-if” scenario modeling. 
  • Ensure schedule transparency and accessibility for government and contractor stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with PMO leadership to align scheduling with program plans, resource assignments, and contract deliverables. 
  • Develop schedule-related reports, dashboards, and briefing materials for governance meetings. 
  • Support risk and issue management by identifying schedule threats and mitigation opportunities. 
  • Maintain schedule baselines, version control, and change documentation. 
  • Participate in IPTs, sprint planning, technical syncs, and milestone review sessions. 
  • Ensure schedule management practices align with DoD, federal, and PMO standards. 

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement 

Candidate must possess a Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust (from any federal agency) or an active Secret clearance or higher. 

 

Education (Required) 

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field. 

 

Experience (Required) 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project scheduling or project control within federal, DoD, or enterprise IT programs. 
  • Experience developing and maintaining Integrated Master Schedules for complex technical programs. 
  • Experience supporting PMO, program governance, or multi-team engineering environments. 
  • Experience with dependency mapping, critical path analysis, and milestone planning. 

 

Technical Knowledge (Required) 

  • Proficiency with scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera. 
  • Understanding of work breakdown structures (WBS), baselines, and earned value concepts. 
  • Familiarity with MTAR, stage-gate, or similar program review processes. 
  • Knowledge of PMBOK-aligned scheduling and project management principles. 

Technical Knowledge (Preferred) 

  • Experience supporting Agile programs and sprint-based planning cycles. 
  • Familiarity with portfolio-level scheduling and cross-program dependency modeling. 

 

Certifications 

Preferred: 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) 
  • Agile or Scrum certifications 

 

Skills 

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage complex schedules with many dependencies. 
  • Excellent communication skills for interfacing with technical teams and senior stakeholders. 
  • High attention to detail and disciplined documentation practices. 
  • Strong analytical skills for schedule health assessments and forecasting. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder mission environment.
