Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a Data Quality / Governance Analyst to support Task 3 data governance, accuracy, and cross-system alignment for a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. This role validates data sources, maintains metadata rules and data dictionaries, supports tagging standards, and performs continuous quality checks to ensure accurate reporting, dashboards, and analytics. 

The Data Quality / Governance Analyst collaborates closely with Task 2 and Task 3 reporting teams, dashboard developers, data owners, and PMO leadership to maintain consistent, reliable, and governable enterprise data. 

This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Data Quality / Governance Analyst will: 

  • Validate Task 3 data sources and assess accuracy, completeness, and reliability. 
  • Maintain data dictionaries, metadata rules, tagging standards, and classification definitions. 
  • Ensure consistency of KPIs, metrics, and datasets across Tasks 2 and 3. 
  • Perform data reconciliation, profiling, cleansing, and quality checks. 
  • Support cross-task data harmonization and integration workflows. 
  • Identify data anomalies, gaps, or inconsistencies and recommend remediation steps. 
  • Collaborate with dashboard teams, analysts, and system owners to align data definitions. 
  • Maintain documentation for data governance processes, metadata rules, and data lineage. 
  • Track source system changes, schema updates, and data dependency impacts. 
  • Support adherence to federal data governance standards and reporting requirements. 
  • Provide input into dashboard specifications, metric definitions, and reporting standardization. 

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement 

Candidate must possess a Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust (from any federal agency) or an active Secret clearance or higher. 

 

Education (Required) 

Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related discipline. 

 

Experience (Required) 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data governance, data quality, metadata management, or analytics. 
  • Experience maintaining data dictionaries, metadata rules, and standardized data fields. 
  • Experience performing data validation, reconciliation, profiling, or cleansing. 
  • Experience supporting cross-team or cross-system data harmonization efforts. 

 

Technical Knowledge (Required) 

  • Understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality principles, and metadata standards. 
  • Proficiency with Excel, SQL, or similar tools for data validation and analysis. 
  • Familiarity with KPI frameworks and structured metric definitions. 

Technical Knowledge (Preferred) 

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Grafana, or similar BI tools. 
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms or ETL/ELT tools. 

 

Certifications 

Preferred: 

  • ITIL v4 Foundation 
  • Data governance or data management certifications 

 

Skills 

  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills. 
  • Ability to work across multiple technical and business teams. 
  • Strong organizational skills for tracking complex datasets and governance workflows.
