Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a Data Analyst (Reporting) to develop KPI frameworks, analyze operational and performance data, and produce recurring reports for a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. This role is responsible for generating weekly and monthly performance reports, tracking service-level agreements (SLAs), analyzing alert trends, and identifying areas for system and operational improvement. 

The Data Analyst supports the PMO, dashboard teams, engineering teams, and operations staff by transforming raw operational data into clear, actionable insights. This includes KPI development, trend identification, and metric reconciliation to ensure reporting accuracy across the enterprise. 

This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Data Analyst (Reporting) will: 

  • Develop KPI calculations and performance measurement frameworks. 
  • Track SLA performance and identify deviations, risks, or improvement opportunities. 
  • Analyze monitoring alerts, incidents, performance logs, and operational data for trends. 
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly analytic reports and executive summaries. 
  • Support dashboard teams in defining metrics, data sources, and visualization requirements. 
  • Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks across multiple data sources. 
  • Perform ad hoc analyses to support operations, engineering, and leadership decision-making. 
  • Maintain reporting templates, standards, and metadata definitions. 
  • Identify anomalies, performance bottlenecks, and recurring issues. 
  • Document analytic processes and ensure alignment with program reporting requirements. 

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement 

Candidate must possess a Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust (from any federal agency) or an active Secret clearance or higher. 

 

Education (Required) 

Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a closely related field. 

 

Experience (Required) 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience performing reporting, analytics, or data analysis. 
  • Experience developing KPIs and tracking SLA performance. 
  • Experience producing weekly/monthly reports for federal, DoD, or large enterprise environments. 
  • Experience analyzing alert logs, incidents, or operational performance datasets. 

 

Technical Knowledge (Required) 

  • Proficiency with Excel, SQL, or analytical tools for data querying and reporting. 
  • Understanding of KPI design, SLA metrics, and performance measurement methodologies. 
  • Familiarity with dashboards or BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Grafana. 
  • Knowledge of data validation, reconciliation, and quality control principles. 

Technical Knowledge (Preferred) 

  • Experience with cloud-based analytics or log aggregation tools. 
  • Familiarity with scripting for automation (Python, R, etc.). 

 

Certifications 

Required: 

  • ITIL Foundation 

Preferred: 

  • Data analytics or BI tool certifications 

 

Skills 

  • Strong analytical and quantitative reasoning abilities. 
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for executive reporting. 
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in reporting outputs. 
  • Ability to identify trends, anomalies, and insights across complex datasets. 
  • Strong time management and ability to handle recurring deadlines.
