Overview

DecisionPoint seeks E-EFMP Back-End Developers to support backend engineering for enterprise applications within a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. These roles implement and enhance application logic, system services, integrations, and API-driven functionality that power the E-EFMP platform. 

The E-EFMP Back-End Developers ensure secure, reliable, and maintainable backend code, focusing on feature enhancements, defect resolution, performance tuning, and seamless integration with front-end and cloud components. 

These positions are fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

The E-EFMP Back-End Developer will: 

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance backend application features and business logic. 
  • Implement bug fixes, system enhancements, and backend updates. 
  • Consume APIs and integrate backend services with internal and external data sources. 
  • Build service-layer components, controllers, workflow logic, and data-access code. 
  • Troubleshoot backend issues, performance problems, and integration failures. 
  • Collaborate with front-end developers to support API-driven UI functionality. 
  • Ensure backend code adheres to secure coding practices and DoD cybersecurity requirements. 
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to backend coding standards. 
  • Support automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and environment readiness. 
  • Maintain documentation for backend services, API usage, schema updates, and integration points. 
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives. 

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement 

Must hold an active Secret clearance, supported by a Tier 3 background investigation. 

 

Education (Required) 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. 

 

Experience (Required) 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in back-end software development. 
  • Experience supporting enterprise application enhancements, bug fixes, and backend integration work. 
  • Experience consuming APIs and building secure backend services. 
  • Experience working in Agile development environments. 

 

Technical Knowledge (Required) 

  • Proficiency in backend programming languages (Java, Python, C#, Node.js, or similar). 
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API integration and service-driven architectures. 
  • Familiarity with relational or NoSQL databases. 
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and backend security principles. 

Technical Knowledge (Preferred) 

  • Experience with AWS or cloud-based backend development. 
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps tools, pipelines, and version control workflows. 
  • Experience with logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting tools. 

 

Certifications 

Preferred: 

  • CompTIA Security+ 
  • ITIL v4 Foundation 
  • Cloud or backend engineering certifications 

 

Skills 

  • Strong backend engineering and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities. 
  • High attention to detail and commitment to code quality. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex backend issues and optimize performance. 
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.
