Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a senior-level Development Lead and Scrum Master to provide architectural leadership, technical direction, and Agile delivery oversight within a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. This role serves as the principal architect and engineering lead, ensuring the design and development of secure, scalable, and high-performing applications. 

The Development Lead / Scrum Master partners with cross-functional engineering teams, cybersecurity, cloud operations, and product management to guide Agile execution, mentor development staff, validate architectures, and maintain adherence to coding and security standards. 

This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Development Lead / Scrum Master will: 

  • Serve as the principal architect responsible for secure, scalable, and resilient application design. 
  • Lead development teams through sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, and Agile ceremonies. 
  • Provide technical oversight across code quality, engineering patterns, integration design, and DevSecOps practices. 
  • Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity practices, including secure coding, dependency hardening, and configuration standards. 
  • Review and validate architectural decisions, technical specifications, and system interfaces. 
  • Collaborate with cloud and infrastructure teams on deployment patterns and operational readiness. 
  • Remove blockers, support team coordination, and ensure predictability of delivery. 
  • Mentor mid-level and junior developers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement. 
  • Facilitate testing, validation, and release preparation for application updates. 
  • Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and development standards. 
  • Support stakeholder engagement by translating requirements into actionable technical tasks. 

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement 

Must hold an active Secret clearance, supported by a Tier 3 background investigation. 

 

Education (Required) 

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 

 

Experience (Required) 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in software development, application architecture, or engineering leadership. 
  • Experience leading Agile development teams as a Scrum Master or technical lead. 
  • Experience architecting secure and scalable enterprise applications. 
  • Experience collaborating with cloud engineers, cybersecurity teams, and product managers. 
  • Experience supporting development efforts within federal, DoD, or enterprise environments preferred. 

 

Technical Knowledge (Required) 

  • Strong understanding of Agile development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps tooling. 
  • Knowledge of secure software design principles and DoD cybersecurity requirements. 
  • Experience with API development, integrations, and enterprise application frameworks. 
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS GovCloud. 

Technical Knowledge (Preferred) 

  • Experience with microservices, container orchestration, or serverless architectures. 
  • Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar delivery platforms. 
  • Familiarity with frontend and backend development stacks. 

 

Certifications 

Required: 

  • CompTIA Security+ 

Preferred: 

  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) 
  • AWS cloud certifications 
  • ITIL v4 Foundation 

 

Skills 

  • Strong leadership and team-coordination abilities.

  • Strong architectural thinking and problem-solving skills.
