Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a Data Analyst (Reporting) to support enterprise analytics, KPI development, and operational performance reporting within a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. This role develops key performance metric calculations, monitors SLA adherence, analyzes alert data, and produces recurring weekly and monthly reporting packages for technical leaders and mission stakeholders. 

The Data Analyst ensures data accuracy, identifies performance trends, and provides actionable insights that enhance service reliability, operational efficiency, and situational awareness across the enterprise. 

This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Data Analyst (Reporting) will: 

  • Develop KPI formulas and maintain metric definitions aligned with enterprise performance requirements. 
  • Track SLA and OLA performance across service desk, engineering, infrastructure, and monitoring domains. 
  • Analyze operational alert data to identify recurring issues, trends, and anomalies. 
  • Publish weekly and monthly reporting packages with clear visualizations, summaries, and insights. 
  • Support ad-hoc reporting requests from leadership, PMO, and technical teams. 
  • Integrate data from monitoring systems, ticketing platforms, and operational data sources. 
  • Validate data quality and ensure accuracy of published reports. 
  • Provide trend analysis, forecasting, and performance insights to support operational improvement. 
  • Maintain report templates, data dictionaries, and dashboard documentation. 
  • Continuously refine reporting processes to increase automation and consistency. 

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement 

Must hold an active Secret clearance, supported by a Tier 3 background investigation. 

 

Education (Required) 

Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field. 

 

Experience (Required) 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data analysis, KPI reporting, or operational performance analytics. 
  • Experience developing and maintaining operational KPIs, metrics, and SLA tracking. 
  • Experience producing recurring reports in federal, DoD, or enterprise IT environments. 
  • Experience analyzing alerts and operational data from monitoring or service management tools. 

 

Technical Knowledge (Required) 

  • Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar). 
  • Strong understanding of KPI modeling, SLA calculations, and metric tracking. 
  • Ability to work with SQL, data queries, and structured datasets. 
  • Familiarity with IT operations and service management reporting needs. 

Technical Knowledge (Preferred) 

  • Experience with automation workflows or ETL processes. 
  • Familiarity with cloud or on-prem monitoring platforms. 
  • Experience developing dashboards or trend analysis models. 

 

Certifications 

Required: 

  • ITIL v4 Foundation 

Preferred: 

  • Certifications in analytics or data visualization 

 

Skills 

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to translate data into clear, actionable reporting. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with technical, operational, and leadership teams. 
  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining recurring reporting cycles.
