Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a Disaster Recovery (DR) Documentation and Compliance Analyst to develop, maintain, and govern all continuity-related documentation in support of a large federal and DoD-aligned IT environment. This role ensures all Disaster Recovery, Continuity of Operations (COOP), contingency, and failover documentation is accurate, version-controlled, 508-compliant, and aligned with federal and DoD cybersecurity and RMF (Risk Management Framework) requirements. 

The DR Documentation and Compliance Analyst will support audit readiness, compliance evidence collection, DR runbook updates, RMF CP-family control documentation, and coordination across engineering, cybersecurity, compliance, and continuity teams. 

This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

The DR Documentation and Compliance Analyst will: 

  • Maintain and update Disaster Recovery runbooks, procedures, COOP plans, and contingency documentation. 
  • Ensure all documentation meets RMF control requirements, particularly the Contingency Planning (CP) control family. 
  • Maintain version control, document history, naming standards, and archival procedures. 
  • Ensure all materials are 508-compliant, accessible, and properly formatted. 
  • Assist with the creation of AARs, CAPs, DR test reports, and DR readiness documentation. 
  • Support audit and assessment teams by preparing and delivering evidence, diagrams, and documentation packages. 
  • Coordinate with continuity, engineering, cybersecurity, and database teams to collect updates and validate technical accuracy. 
  • Maintain content in shared repositories, documentation portals, and knowledge management systems. 
  • Track changes across systems and update documentation to reflect new architecture, configurations, and processes. 
  • Develop templates, style guides, and document standards for DR and COOP materials. 
  • Support continuous improvement of documentation workflows, quality processes, and compliance alignment. 

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement 

Must hold an active Top Secret clearance, supported by a Tier 5 background investigation. 

 

Education (Required) 

Bachelor’s degree in Information Assurance, Information Technology, Technical Writing, or a related field. 

 

Experience (Required) 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical writing, DR documentation, compliance documentation, or IT governance. 
  • Experience writing or maintaining COOP, DR, or RMF-related documentation. 
  • Experience preparing control evidence, audit materials, or RMF artifacts. 
  • Experience working with engineering and cybersecurity teams to validate content accuracy. 
  • Experience maintaining version-controlled documentation repositories. 

 

Technical Knowledge (Required) 

  • Strong understanding of DR, COOP, and contingency planning documentation requirements. 
  • Knowledge of RMF controls, particularly the CP (Contingency Planning) family. 
  • Familiarity with accessibility requirements and 508-compliant formatting. 
  • Experience with ITIL v4 documentation and process alignment. 

Technical Knowledge (Preferred) 

  • Experience supporting federal or DoD programs. 
  • Experience with document automation, workflows, or content management systems. 
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity policy, audit frameworks, or compliance tools. 

 

Certifications 

Required: 

  • ITIL v4 Foundation 

Preferred: 

  • CompTIA Security+ 
  • Certified Technical Writer or similar credential 

 

Skills 

  • Strong writing and editing abilities with attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Ability to translate technical content into clear, structured documentation. 
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing document repositories and versioning. 
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical and compliance teams. 
  • Strong communication skills for audit coordination and documentation reviews.
