Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a Cyber Team Lead to oversee cybersecurity readiness evaluations and compliance activities under a long-term DoD IT services program. The role leads a team of cybersecurity analysts conducting vulnerability assessments, configuration inspections, and compliance verification for enterprise IT systems and networks. 

The Team Lead ensures all readiness assessments align with DoD and NIST cybersecurity frameworks, delivering actionable recommendations to improve mission assurance and risk posture. 

This position is onsite at HSV – Redstone Arsenal. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, execution, and reporting of cybersecurity readiness assessments across enterprise IT environments. 
  • Oversee team tasking, quality control, and deliverable review to ensure accuracy and completeness. 
  • Evaluate system configurations and security controls against DoD and DISA STIG compliance standards. 
  • Coordinate with system administrators and information system security managers (ISSMs) to document findings and remediation actions. 
  • Conduct interviews, inspections, and control validations to assess cybersecurity posture. 
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive reports summarizing risks, vulnerabilities, and recommended mitigations. 
  • Track and verify corrective actions through closure. 
  • Support higher-level audits, inspections, and reporting to government oversight entities. 
  • Provide mentorship and direction to assessment staff and junior cybersecurity analysts. 
  • Manage and maintain system records within the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) platform. 
  •  Support the full lifecycle of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process for Army information systems, including categorization, control selection, implementation, assessment, and authorization

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement: 
Active Secret clearance required. 

Education: 
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field. 

Experience: 

  • Minimum 6 years of cybersecurity or readiness assessment experience. 
  • Experience leading small teams performing security inspections or risk assessments in a defense setting. 
  • Hands-on experience with RMF/ATO processes, continuous monitoring, and vulnerability scanning tools 
  • Experience managing and maintaining system records within the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) platform   
  • Desired: Experience in space and missile defense. 

Certifications: 

  • CompTIA Security+ CE required (DoD 8570 IAT II baseline). 
  • CEH, CISSP, or equivalent preferred. 

Skills: 

  • Strong understanding of RMF, ACAS, and DISA STIG processes. 
  • Excellent technical writing and communication abilities. 
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex technical data and produce actionable reports. 
  • Effective leadership and coordination skills.
