Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a QA/Test Engineer (CMS) to support the design, testing, and validation of an enterprise Case Management System (CMS) serving Department of Defense mission stakeholders. The QA/Test Engineer ensures traceability from requirements through test execution and deployment validation, maintaining system quality, compliance, and user acceptance across Agile development cycles. 

 

The ideal candidate will bring expertise in automated testing, traceability, and validation across multiple environments (IL2–IL5), with a focus on secure, high-availability applications. 

 

This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

The QA/Test Engineer (CMS) will: 

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and validation scripts ensuring full traceability from requirements through deployment. 
  • Maintain traceability matrices linking user stories, functional requirements, and test results to ensure compliance and coverage. 
  • Implement automated test frameworks (e.g., Selenium, PyTest, JUnit) supporting regression, integration, and performance testing in Agile pipelines. 
  • Collaborate with developers and analysts to define acceptance criteria and establish reusable test scenarios within CI/CD environments. 
  • Support continuous integration and automated validation in AWS GovCloud through pipeline tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline. 
  • Execute functional, regression, smoke, and UAT testing across multiple enclaves (IL2–IL5). 
  • Validate data integrity, access controls, and security compliance across environments during release validation. 
  • Record, track, and report defects and test results using defect management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps. 
  • Collaborate with configuration management and development teams to ensure synchronized release readiness. 
  • Provide deployment validation testing support and confirm successful system implementation post-release. 
  • Contribute to process improvements through continuous service improvement (CSI) feedback loops and test automation refinements. 

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement: 

  •  Must hold an active Secret clearance. 

Education:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. 

Experience: 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing, QA automation, or system validation for enterprise or defense systems. 
  • Experience supporting Agile software development and CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Familiarity with requirements management, traceability, and test automation frameworks. 

Technical Knowledge: 

  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools (Selenium, Postman, Robot Framework, or equivalent). 
  • Knowledge of requirements traceability tools and defect management platforms (e.g., Jira, TestRail). 
  • Experience executing tests in AWS GovCloud or similar secure environments. 
  • Familiarity with DISA STIGs, RMF validation, and cybersecurity compliance testing. 
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, data validation, and database query testing (SQL). 

Certifications (Preferred): 

  • Certified Software Tester (CSTE) or ISTQB Foundation Level. 
  • CompTIA Security+ CE or DoD 8570-compliant certification. 
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or equivalent. 

Skills: 

  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and organizational skills. 
  • Strong collaboration with developers, PMO, and cybersecurity teams. 
  • Ability to translate business requirements into executable test scripts.
