Network Engineer, Sr.

DecisionPoint is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support the Defense Casualty Information Processing System (DCIPS) operating in an AWS GovCloud environment. This role is responsible for the engineering, security, and operational sustainment of cloud‑based network and infrastructure services supporting a mission‑critical Department of Defense system. The position requires hands‑on AWS networking experience and close collaboration with Government and cloud service partners.

This position is fully remote. 

• Install, configure, optimize, secure, administer, and monitor AWS GovCloud network and infrastructure components, including multi‑tier application environments.
• Design and manage AWS networking services, including VPCs, subnets, routing, load balancing, VPN connectivity, access controls, and firewalls.
• Provide detection, logging, alerting, and incident response support in a 24/7/365 operational environment.
• Identify network issues related to design or implementation constraints and implement effective workarounds.
• Collaborate with system, network, and security engineers to deliver secure, resilient, and operationally sound solutions.
• Develop and maintain cloud and network architecture artifacts, including conceptual and physical diagrams, data flows, and network flow diagrams.
• Support backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning leveraging AWS Availability Zones.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, technical documentation, and security‑related artifacts in support of DCIPS operations.

• Must hold an active Top Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in network and/or systems engineering.
• Hands‑on experience in AWS or AWS GovCloud environments, with strong emphasis on networking and security.
• Experience with load balancing, VPNs, firewalls, access controls, and multi‑tier cloud architectures.
• Experience supporting mission‑critical systems in regulated Federal or DoD environments preferred.
