Overview

DecisionPoint seeks an Associate Engineer to provide hands-on technical engineering support for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Technical Operations Center (TOC). The Associate Engineer will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting IT systems and infrastructure to support mission requirements. This role will contribute to system enhancements, configuration management, and operational readiness while working closely with senior engineers and administrators to ensure reliable service delivery.

 

This position is fully on-site at one of the following locations:

  • 4601 Fairfax Dr., Arlington, VA 22203 (Ballston)
  • 1110 N Glebe Rd., Arlington, VA 22201 (Glebe)
  • 4200 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA 22203 (Wilson)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, workstations, and networking equipment.
  • Support system and application upgrades, patches, and configuration changes to maintain security and stability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues, escalating to senior engineers when necessary.
  • Monitor system performance and availability, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Participate in engineering reviews, contributing to the development of solutions that improve system performance and reliability.
  • Support documentation of system configurations, changes, and operational procedures.
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and reporting requirements by providing technical input and status updates.
  • Collaborate with TOC teams and other contractors to coordinate changes, resolve incidents, and improve service delivery.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and recommending system and process enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable suitability determination (Public Trust background investigation). 
  • Minimum of 3 years of technical IT engineering or systems administration experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (additional years of experience may substitute for a degree).
  • Certifications: ITIL 4 certification preferred; additional vendor certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, or equivalent) desirable.
  • Technical Knowledge: Experience with enterprise IT systems, networking, and troubleshooting tools. Familiarity with system administration, configuration management, and IT service management processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Federal experience (preferred).
