Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) who will lead the company’s technology vision and execution, overseeing technical solutioning, cultivating strategic technology partnerships, and driving the long-term technology strategy. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CTO ensures DecisionPoint remains at the forefront of innovation in federal IT services.

 

3 days a week on site in Reston, VA required.

Duties & Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and execute a strategic vision for technology investments that align with business growth, market demand, and federal compliance.
  • Establish robust architectural frameworks and governance models that enable agility, scalability, and security.

Technical Solutioning and Innovation

  • Lead technical strategy and architecture across areas like IT modernization, cybersecurity, software development, data services, and mission support services.
  • Drive assessment and adoption of emerging technologies, especially in multi-cloud, Zero Trust, AI/ML, DevSecOps, and data analytics.
  • Oversee the solution architecture team, providing support to the Chief Growth Officer on priority pursuits.

Partnership Development

  • Identify, evaluate, and cultivate strategic alliances (e.g., technology vendors, platform partners, etc.) that enhance solution offerings and delivery capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the growth team and industry partners to stay aligned with federal acquisition strategies.

Team Development & Leadership

  • Build and mentor high-performing technical teams across engineering, cybersecurity, data science, DevOps, and architecture.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and mission-first excellence, aligned with DecisionPoint’s core values.

Delivery Excellence

  • Oversee seamless delivery of technology solutions, ensuring they meet quality, security, compliance, and performance benchmarks.
  • Provide technical leadership on proposals and mission-critical contracts.

Thought Leadership & External Engagement

  • Represent DecisionPoint in industry forums, conferences, and government events; contribute to thought leadership in federal IT innovation.
  • Guide collaborative strategy for press, media, and marketing initiatives emphasizing technological differentiation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s (required) or Master’s (preferred) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 10+ years in senior technology leadership roles—especially in government IT or defense sectors.
  • Proven track record in leading integrations of cloud modernization, Zero Trust cybersecurity, DevSecOps, AI/ML solutions, and data platforms.
  • Experience scaling small/mid-size IT businesses in a contracting environment is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated success in building strategic tech partnerships and alliances.
  • Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST, FISMA, CMMC).
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams across platform engineering, security, data services, software delivery, and mission support.
  • Knowledge of proposal best practices, Shipley methodologies, and government procurement regulations (e.g., FAR/DFARS).
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and mentoring skills.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Adept at navigating regulatory environments while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in IT, digital transformation, cybersecurity and other related capabilities in the Federal space.
