Senior System Architect  

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Senior System Architect to join our team supporting the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) Public Health Information System (PHIS) contract. This fully remote position will play a critical role in guiding the modernization, cloud migration, and ongoing evolution of PHIS, ensuring the system meets mission-critical needs for data collection, analysis, and reporting.

This position is fully remote. 

• Guide all phases of development, modernization, cloud migration, and implementation, including system design, analysis, architecture, and engineering 

• Plan and direct the development of major projects and the installation of systems 

• Perform process analyses to recommend improvements 

• Perform system, network, and/or database administration, analysis, design, implementation, and testing 

• Analyze and document client needs and requirements 

• Provide technical support, including technical solutions and training 

• Write, modify, and maintain system documentation and specifications 

• Perform data and technical analysis and information engineering 

• Participate in meetings and design reviews 

• Prepare reports on analyses, findings, and project progress 

• May supervise and direct the work of lower-level analysts and engineers 

• Perform technical research on emerging technologies to determine impacts on application execution and to provide alternative solutions 

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in systems architecture, design, and implementation. 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline. 

• Technical Skills: 

• Proven expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies. 

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS) and cloud migration strategies. 

• Strong background in service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices, and API design. 

• Proficiency in system integration, middleware, and database technologies. 

• Familiarity with Agile development life cycles and DevOps practices. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce clear, concise documentation and effectively brief stakeholders.
