Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team on an upcoming U.S. Coast Guard Waterways Commerce Cutter (WCC) Project Management Support Services contract located in Bayou La Batre, Alabama. This effort supports the design, construction, and delivery of inland cutter vessels WLIC, WLR, and WLI variants by providing project management, SharePoint development, data management, quality assurance, and logistics coordination in alignment with USCG’s Major System Acquisition policies. The role requires a full-time onsite presence at the WCC Project Resident Office, with responsibilities including oversight of production contracts, schedule management using Primavera and Microsoft Project, evaluation planning, deficiency tracking, and post-delivery logistics support. Personnel must meet required qualifications and security clearances, manage data through environments like SharePoint and NSERC, and handle sensitive but unclassified information to support operational readiness and mission success.

 

This position is on-site in Bayou La Batre, AL.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support tracking of deficiency records and processes including but not limited to:
    • Surveillance (Product Verification/Procedure Review), Test observation, Compartment Completion Inspection (CCI), Corrective Action Requests (CAR), Trial Cards, and project management records.
  • Review the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) and compare it to the IMS. Discrepancies between the TEMP and IMS should be identified early and presented to the COR in a standard format to detail trends.
  • Develop and maintain ship unique data and database for PRO deficiency record input into the TSM system.
  • Support PRO personnel in maintaining the status of deficiency records from creation through closure in the TSM system.
  • Utilize available programs, tools, and data sources in the preparation of weekly Test and Quality Assurance reports.
  • Provide trial card status reports, metrics documenting trends in trial cards and document deficiency resolution in support of dock and sea trials. This task also includes capturing lessons learned between Post Shakedown Availabilities and providing recommendations to decrease cost, and to maintain or shorten the schedule and track performance.
  • Maintain the ability to generate ETC during pre-trial production inspection and test cycles.
  • Maintain the ability to transfer current cutter, Quality CARs, and prior cutter(s) rollover trial card data into the TSM system.
  • Assist PRO personnel with the creation of new trial cards using the ETC tool.
  • Assist PRO personnel with pre-screening and screening tests before, during and after trials required to support WCC production.
  • Assist PRO personnel with the tracking, defect coding, and other applicable technical assistance on all trial cards from the ETC tool creation, through closure in the TSM system.
  • Maintain a deployable mini-local area network and surge support for sea trials to all laptops and associated network infrastructure to support dock side and at-sea trials to record deficiencies in the TSM system.
  • Attend meetings in relation to assigned tasks as designated by the COR. The Contractor shall attend and support program reviews as assigned.
  • Support the Government in reviewing and analyzing the WCC production contractor’s Quality Assurance program

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of ship construction; Experience with administering and maintaining similar Quality Assurance programs
