Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking 5 highly skilled Senior Developers to join the US Transportation Command’s Groups Operational Passenger System (GTP-GOPAX) team. These Senior Developers will lead complex software development projects, focusing on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions. They will work in a DevSecOps environment, leveraging modern CI/CD pipelines and microservices architectures. Senior Developers will ensure the highest level of code quality by integrating best practices such as secure coding, unit testing, and automated deployments, while mentoring junior developers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals.

 

This position is onsite at Scott AFB.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment of high-quality software solutions.
  • Collaborate with Scrum Teams to ensure user stories and acceptance criteria are well-defined and actionable.
  • Apply Extreme Programming (xP) practices like Test-Driven Development (TDD), Test-First Development (TFD), refactoring, and Continuous Integration (CI).
  • Design, develop, and deploy secure, scalable, and maintainable applications using Java, Ruby, and other object-oriented programming languages.
  • Implement and optimize microservices architectures, decoupling legacy monolithic code when necessary.
  • Integrate software solutions into existing web portals, utilizing technologies such as JSR 168, JSR 286, Liferay Portal, Apache CXF, and Log4j2.
  • Perform scripting, configuration, and troubleshooting in Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Windows environments.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, and other DevOps tools to automate the build and deployment process.
  • Apply secure coding practices and utilize security code scans with tools like Fortify Static Code Analyzer (SCA), Nessus, and SonarQube to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Mentor junior developers and collaborate with mid-level and junior engineers to improve code quality and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and security standards, including DISA STIGs, SRGs, and the DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (SRG).
  • Provide documentation, including system installation procedures, user manuals, and technical specifications, ensuring all deliverables meet industry and DoD standards.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize application performance across various platforms, including AWS, VMWare vSphere, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Must hold an active an IAT Level II certification; CompTIA Security+ CE highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other technical discipline related to designing information systems.
  • Proficiency with front-end and back-end web development, utilizing languages such as JavaScript, SQL, HTML/CSS, and frameworks like Angular 2, Flex, and JSP.
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Microsoft Azure) and cloud-native architectures.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory) and automation tools (CloudFormation, Terraform).
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures.
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices and vulnerability mitigation tools such as Fortify, Nessus, and SonarQube.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience leading cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team setting.
