Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Senior Program Manager to join our US Transportation Command – Global Freight Management team. The Senior Program Manager oversees the planning, execution, and completion of complex IT projects, ensuring alignment with both client goals and corporate objectives. This position involves leading technical and business teams to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget. The Senior Program Manager works closely with key stakeholders, including customers, corporate leadership, and partners, to track progress, manage risks, and report on deliverables. Responsible for budgetary oversight, schedule management, and risk mitigation, this role ensures that all project goals are achieved efficiently. The Senior Program Manager also supervises personnel across multiple locations, enforcing work standards, conducting regular meetings with stakeholders, and resolving issues as they arise. Strong leadership, technical expertise, and stakeholder management skills are essential for success in this role.

 

This position requires 2 days a week onsite at Scott AFB. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plans, initiates, and manages IT projects.
  • Leads business and technical staff of complex IT projects.
  • Plans project stages and assesses business implications for each stage.
  • Monitors progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.
  • Leads the project team to achieve success for the client and DecisionPoint.
  • Works closely with the customer, DecisionPoint corporate leadership, and key partners to plan, track, and report on progress of all deliverables.
  • In conjunction with key stakeholders, determines budget and time required for each goal, as well as the project.
  • Meets regularly with customer and contractor personnel to formulate and review plans and accomplish tasks for deliverable items.
  • Identifies and mitigates potential risks.
  • Supervises contract personnel at multiple locations.
  • Reviews work products, identifying and correcting discrepancies.
  • Resolves issues during project execution.
  • Assigns and manages personnel work schedules.
  • Ensures conformance with program schedules and budgets.
  • Understands, communicates, and enforces work standards in keeping with DecisionPoint policies.
  • Implements and monitors training of personnel.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Must hold an active an IAT Level II certification; CompTIA Security+ CE highly preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years' directly related experience as a project manager, including at least 5 years' experience managing complex IT projects in DoD.
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, other related disciplines, or technical training
  • Proficiency in using Jira (or similar) for project management, issue tracking, and workflow customization.
  • Proven team leadership ability in DoD environment
  • Demonstrated excellence in project management
  • Technical expertise in IT field related to this contract (e.g., software development, systems integration, database management, etc.).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Exceptional time-management and task prioritization skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and consultation skills required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) required.
