Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Mid-Level Developer to join our US Transportation Command – Global Freight Management team. The Mid-Level Developer will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining complex software systems. This position involves participation in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from planning and development to testing and deployment. With a strong focus on object-oriented programming, the Mid-Level Developer ensures the scalability, performance, and reliability of applications. The role also requires managing Java applications and CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business needs and industry standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participate in all phases of the SDLC, including design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications.
  • Develop and maintain applications that meet both business requirements and industry standards.
  • Apply object-oriented programming principles to create scalable and maintainable software solutions.
  • Deploy and manage Java-based applications, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Configure and optimize application servers to enhance user experience and minimize downtime.
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the software delivery process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and project success.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, including scripting and configuration in Linux environments.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and provide ongoing support for deployed applications.
  • Work independently and within teams to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Must hold an active an IAT Level II certification; CompTIA Security+ CE highly preferred.
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, other related disciplines, or technical training
  • Proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) with knowledge of software development best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with application servers (e.g., Apache Tomcat) and CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Experience working in Linux environments, performing scripting, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Jira for project management and Confluence for collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about complex technical challenges
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
