Junior Developer

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Junior Developer to join our US Transportation Command – Global Freight Management team. The Junior Developer will support the design, development, and maintenance of software applications while learning and growing within a dynamic team. This position involves participating in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with a focus on coding, testing, and troubleshooting applications. Under the guidance of senior developers, the Junior Developer will contribute to creating scalable, maintainable software while gaining hands-on experience in Java and related technologies.

• Assist in the design and development of software applications, adhering to best practices and performance standards.
• Contribute to the SDLC, including coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining software systems.
• Apply object-oriented programming principles to develop scalable software solutions.
• Support the deployment and management of Java applications, ensuring performance and availability.
• Assist in configuring and monitoring application servers to enhance reliability and minimize downtime.
• Contribute to the design and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines under the guidance of senior developers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues with support from senior developers.
• Document application features and processes for future reference.
• Work within a team to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Contribute to technical documentation and provide ongoing support for deployed applications.
• Work independently and within teams to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced environment.

• Active Secret Clearance.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• Must hold an active an IAT Level II certification; CompTIA Security+ CE highly preferred.
• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, other related disciplines, or technical training
• Basic proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate in a team environment.
• Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira) and documentation tools (e.g., Confluence).
• Strong communication skills and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
