Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Configuration Manager to join our US Transportation Command – Global Freight Management team. The Configuration Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive Configuration Management (CM) support for the Global Freight Management (GFM) program, ensuring that CM processes are effectively maintained and complement existing Government processes. The Configuration Manager oversees the control and maintenance of all GFM baselines and configuration items, including source code, documentation, and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software. This role includes managing source code repositories, change control, and providing input for the Configuration Management Plan (CMP). The Configuration Manager acts as a liaison between the Government and the contractor, ensuring compliance with configuration management standards and supporting change control activities within the enterprise.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a Configuration Management Plan that complements existing GFM Government processes, ensuring its submission within 90 business days of contract start and updates within 30 business days of each performance period.
  • Maintain all source code and configuration items (documentation, COTS software, application source code, and executables), ensuring accurate version control and change management for GFM program baselines.
  • Deliver source code to the Government for inclusion into the enterprise Source Code Repository at each release.
  • Store all GFM software source code in the Source Code Repository Tool, currently supported by GitLab in the cloud.
  • Provide change control updates, participate in weekly Change Control Board meetings, and act as the liaison between the Government and contractor to facilitate necessary updates.
  • Ensure that developers' configuration management processes, procedures, and controls are in compliance with Government and GFM standards.
  • Implement CM processes, including configuration status accounting, source and change control, baseline versioning, and conducting CM audits to ensure accurate configuration of GFM software.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure CM processes are followed and provide input to improve methods, procedures, and controls.
  • Collaborate with the Government team to provide updates and ensure effective communication regarding configuration management processes.
  • Perform regular audits and maintain records of all changes to ensure the integrity of configuration items and baselines.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Must hold an active an IAT Level II certification; CompTIA Security+ CE highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Configuration Management or related roles.
  • High school diploma is required; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in documenting and coordinating system configuration changes in a complex IT environment.
  • Strong knowledge of configuration management processes, including version control, change control, and configuration audits.
  • Hands-on experience with GitLab and other Source Code Repository tools.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-level CM tools such as Serena Business Management (SBM).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively between contractors and government personnel.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate configuration records and ensure compliance with CMP standards.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, ensuring project success in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
