DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a GIS Developer to provide high-level GIS development support to two Bureau of Reclamation projects. This position is remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing, operating, and maintaining GIS applications, and configuration and customization of applications and web services developed using Esri software and/or open-source software (e.g., MapServer).
  • Responsibilities also include, designing and developing custom functions and associated user interface components using Javascript, HTML, and industry standard frameworks that operate with the ArcGIS API for Javascript, and developing automation scripts that operate with ArcGIS API for Python.
  • Candidate shall follow the Reclamation Enterprise Application Lifecycle Management process.
  • Candidate shall adhere to coding and security best practices.


  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years relevant work experience in geospatial technology.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
  • Plans and leads major technology assignments.
  • Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
  • Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to obtain ITILv4 Foundations certification.
  • Comfortable working in an environment that includes, Drupal, PHP, and MySQL.
  • The candidate shall have knowledge of and experience authoring and managing map services using open-source software, such as MapServer, GeoServer, or similar.
  • Experience creating custom SQL (MySQL) queries to pull data into map and web services.
  • The candidate shall have knowledge of the ArcGIS Enterprise platform and experience with development and customization of the following technologies:  ArcGIS APIs for Javascript and Python.
